A motorcyclist successfully eluded a deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.

A DCSO report said at 11:15 a.m.  a deputy tried to stop a street bike for several traffic infractions on Interstate Five southbound just north of Rice Valley near milepost 147. The motorcyclist took off southbound and a pursuit ensued. The deputy chased the rider for approximately four miles. When the motorcycle passed a truck over the fog line and almost crashed, the deputy terminated the pursuit.

The motorcycle was observed by several other law enforcement agencies, still driving recklessly in the southbound lanes of the freeway.
