Roseburg Police jailed a man in an alleged theft and fraud case on Sunday.

An RPD report said at 3:30 p.m. a victim claimed her EBT card had been stolen, and 16 unauthorized charges had been made on the card. Those unauthorized charges took place in both Douglas and Lane counties.

During the investigation, officers developed 30-year-old Forrest Breitweiser as the suspect. Officers contacted him at his residence in the 1700 block of Southeast Cobb Street. Breitweiser admitted to stealing the victim’s card and being the sole individual who made the unauthorized charges. He was taken into custody without incident.

Breitweiser was charged with five counts each of fraudulent use of a credit card, computer crime and identity theft, and for third-degree theft. He was detained without bail.
