Roseburg man arrested during alleged drug deal

Roseburg Police arrested a man on drug charges at Gaddis Park on Thursday afternoon.

RPD said officers contacted John Thomas James around 2 p.m. while he was allegedly in the middle of a drug deal. The arrest record said the 72-year-old was in possession of over an ounce of methamphetamine, some of which was already packaged for sale.

James was also allegedly in possession of $800 in cash and large quantities of packaging materials.

James was lodged at Douglas County Corrections on charges of unlawful delivery of meth, unlawful possession of meth and unlawful delivery of substantial or commercial amounts of a controlled substance. He’s being held without bail.
