A Roseburg man died following a single vehicle accident on Monday evening.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 6:00 p.m. 65-year-old David Knott was traveling northbound on Old Highway 99 South near Roseburg Forest Products in Dillard. For unknown reasons his vehicle left the roadway and entered the roadside ditch, adjacent to the railroad tracks. The vehicle then exited the ditch and came to rest on a railroad track access road.

Bystanders at the scene, initiated CPR until emergency medical personnel arrived. Medics continued their life-saving efforts, however Knott was pronounced deceased at the scene.
