The City of Roseburg has been named as second on the WorldAtlas.com list of the “10 Best Places to Call Home in the Pacific Northwest in 2025”.
A city release said the list was announced on September 14th and contains towns in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Klamath Falls, Grants Pass and The Dalles are other locations in the state that also made the list.
The website’s blurb on Roseburg notes the city’s setting on the South Umpqua River, as well as its Native American heritage, pioneers, geology, natural beauty and wine industry.
An excerpt said: “The timber industry still shapes Roseburg, but today the town thrives just as much on outdoor adventure and wine country. For those who love the outdoors, the Umpqua National Forest is right at your doorstep, leading to waterfalls, hot springs and endless hiking trails. Wine lovers will want to sip their way through the Umpqua Valley Wine Trail, home to dozens of boutique vineyards that thrive in the fertile valley soils”.
Roseburg Mayor Larry Rich said, “I am not surprised – it’s the best kept secret in our area. This is a great place to live. Those who are fortunate enough to live here see the beauty of this place every day”.
