MYRTLE CREEK POLICE INVESTIGATING ROBBERY OUTSIDE OF BANK

September 18, 2025 4:00 a.m.

The Myrtle Creek Police Department is investigating a robbery which reportedly took place outside a bank on Sunday evening.

Detective Kevin Taggert said just after 8:45 p.m. MCPD officers and deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Columbia Bank, formerly Umpqua Bank, in the 100 block of Northwest Pleasant Street. Taggert said law enforcement contacted a man in the drive-through, who reported that he had just been robbed by two subjects. The victim said he was dropping off a deposit for his workplace when the two men approached his vehicle and demanded the money. He told police that one of the men threatened to shoot him. Taggart said the subjects took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area on foot.

Taggart said DCSO deployed a drone and the Roseburg Police Department brought a K-9 to the scene for a track. The suspects were not located at that time. Taggart said the men were both wearing hoodie sweatshirts and masks when the robbery took place.

Evidence was collected at the scene and is still being processed. Taggart said the investigation is active and no further details will be released at this time.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Myrtle Creek Police Department at 440-4471.
