A Canyonville man was cited for a DUII incident early Tuesday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 12:10 a.m. the 62-year-old was riding a motorcycle and missed a turn in the area of South Old Pacific Highway and Bill’s Road in the Tri-City area. The rider attempted to make a U-turn but was unsuccessful and landed in a ditch on Bill’s Road.

The man was allegedly intoxicated and admitted to having a few drinks of whiskey. He performed standard field sobriety tests but was unable to perform physical tests. He was taken into custody and transported to the Myrtle Creek Police Department where he reportedly provided two breath samples with a 0.08 percent result.

The man was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants-alcohol and failure to drive within a lane. He was released after the citations were issued.
