Covering coastal Douglas County:

A Roseburg man was hurt in an ATV crash on Saturday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 11:15 a.m. deputies and medical personnel responded to the wreck near the South Boundary off Salmon Harbor Drive in Winchester Bay. The 19-year-old was jumping his dirt bike at approximately 40 miles per hour when he crashed. He was not wearing a helmet and hit his face and shoulder on the bike and the ground.

Medical personnel evaluated the man, but he refused to go to the hospital. His riding group planned to give him a ride back to Roseburg.
