Only two of the recent fires remain uncontained on the Umpqua National Forest.
A UNF update said the Emile Fire was a new start on the North Umpqua Ranger District near Emile Shelter and is now controlled.
*Coyote Fire (#401) – Estimated at 30 acres. Located northwest of Tallow Butte on the Tiller Ranger District. Fire is 100% lined, hose lay in place, mop up in progress, 75% contained.
*Sugar Loaf Fire (#345) – This fire located just east of Sugarloaf Mountain on the Cottage Grove Ranger District was reported on August 24th. Fully lined and in mop up. Fire is 53 acres and 40% to 50% contained.
The forest remains in High fire danger with Public Use Restrictions at Level 2.
