A Myrtle Creek man was jailed following an alleged assault incident on Thursday evening.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 10:30 p.m. deputies responded to the 300 block of Norton Lane in the Myrtle Creek area after a caller said there was a disturbance. 39-year-old Peyton Elias would not provide the deputy with any details of what had happened other than he was defending himself.

A witness claimed that Elias was trying to get into a room while pulling a victim by the wrist. Elias then allegedly punched the victim six times until she went unconscious and fell to the floor. Elias was charged with 4th-degree felony assault, harassment, and a parole violation. He was detained without bail.
