SEVERAL FIRES ON THE UMPQUA NATIONAL FOREST NOW CONTAINED, CONTROLLED, OR OUT

Several fires on the Umpqua National Forest are now contained, controlled or out after an aggressive response to multiple new starts.

A UNF update said fires currently being worked include:

*New Start* Watson (#418) – Estimated at a quarter of an acre. Located just east of Watson Creek on the Diamond Lake Ranger District. Three engines and two individual resources on scene.

*New Start* Tower Fire (#416) – Estimated at one-tenth of an acre. Located just west of the Callahan Ridge on the Tiller Ranger District. Fully lined, in mop up.

*Callahan Fire (#413) – Estimated at one-tenth of an acre. Located southeast of Green Butte on the Tiller Ranger District. Fully lined, in mop up.

*Coyote Fire (#401) – Estimated at 30 acres. Located northwest of Tallow Butte on the Tiller Ranger District. Fire is 100% lined, hose lay in place, mop up in progress, 50% contained. Resources engaged on this fire include four engines, two handcrews, one fire squad, and one water tender.

The UNF remains in High fire danger. Public Use Restrictions and the Industrial Fire Precaution Level are both at Level 2.
