Roseburg Police jailed a woman following an alleged theft incident on Wednesday.
An RPD report said 36-year-old Heather Nichols allegedly stole a debit card from a victim’s residence in the 900 block of Southeast Roberts Avenue, while she was visiting him. Nichols reportedly drove to an ATM and withdrew $220 and $380 before allegedly throwing the debit card out the window of her vehicle.
Nichols admitted to the theft and justified her actions due to recently losing her job. She was charged with two counts each of fraudulent use of a credit card, identity theft, computer crimes, and second-degree theft and for third-degree theft. She was detained without bail at 9:00 p.m. and was released on Thursday morning.
