Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported assault incident on Friday night.

An RPD report said at 10:00 p.m. officers responded to the incident at an establishment in the 900 block of Southeast Stephens Street, where a male was knocked out and lying on the ground. Officers found a victim in front of the business unconscious and identified 35-year-old Ian Spencer as a suspect. Officers located Spencer a few blocks away chasing two other victims.

Spencer was detained at taser point. He ultimately admitted to punching the first victim and then kicking him while he was on the ground. He also admitted to chasing the two other victims and said he intended to assault them as well.

Spencer was charged with fourth-degree assault, two counts of menacing, and second-degree disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $20,000. The man was released on Saturday.
