The YMCA of Douglas County has announced the grand opening of its newly remodeled weight room.

It is being revealed this week following the Y’s annual facility closure. A release said that with a sleek, modern design and state-of-the-art equipment, the new space reflects the Y’s ongoing commitment to providing members with the best fitness experience possible.

The remodel features a brand-new weight room floor, updated wall treatments, LED lighting, and an open reimagined layout designed for functionality and energy. Members will enjoy brand-new dumbbells, benches, and a complete Precor strength circuit with 15 machines. Specialty equipment includes a dual adjustable cable pulley system, a plate-loaded hip extension bench, and a plate loaded glute squat machine – offering fresh ways to train and build strength.

In addition, 18 new pieces of cardio equipment have been installed, including 9 treadmills, 3 all-motion trainers, 2 upright bikes, 2 step mills, 1 recumbent bike and 1 elliptical.

YMCA of Douglas County CEO Steven Stanfield said, “These upgrades wouldn’t have been made possible without the generosity of our members, donors, and community partners through the 2024 Annual Campaign”. Stanfield said, “We’re proud to invest in the health and wellness of our community, and we look forward to welcoming everyone into the new space”.

The YMCA invites all members and the community to experience the updated weight room and discover the new opportunities it provides for training, wellness, and connection.
