Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged theft incident on Wednesday.

An RPD report said at 3:15 p.m. officers responded to a theft from a business in 1300 block of Northeast Stephens Street. 37-year-old Christopher Carpenter was located in the area with the stolen items. Carpenter admitted to the theft, and being in possession of methamphetamine. His parole officer was contacted and authorized a detainer.

He was charged with second-degree theft, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and a parole violation. Carpenter was detained without bail.
