ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Roseburg Police jailed a man on Monday for alleged criminal mischief.

An RPD report said the 49-year-old was the suspect in an ongoing criminal investigation where he was allegedly seen on video destroying a street sign near the intersection of Northeast Jackson Street and Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. The man was taken into custody without incident and was transported to corrections. While there, a small bag a white crystalline substance that the man referred to as meth, was reportedly located in his pocket.

He was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. The man was detained without bail.
