Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man following an overnight disturbance early Saturday.
A DCSO report said at 3:45 a.m. a victim messaged a friend requesting assistance in the 1000 block of Byron Creek Road in the Olalla area. The friend then notified dispatch of the information provided. The victim claimed that 36-year-old Ricco Reghetti was attacking and preventing her from leaving and that he had choked and assaulted her.
Deputies responded to the residence. After attempting announcements at the scene, the victim began to run towards deputies stating that Reghetti was behind her. The victim ran behind patrol vehicles as the suspect showed his position, holding an unknown object in his hand. It was determined that Reghetti had choked and assaulted the victim over a two-day period. Contact was not made initially.
Ricco Reghetti was contacted later during a traffic stop and was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with two felony counts of strangulation, fourth-degree assault, harassment and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Reghetti was detained without bail.
