Sutherlin Police jailed a man on the charge of 4th-degree felony assault on Wednesday, for an alleged prior incident.
An SPD report said on August 19th at 10:30 p.m. a victim flagged an officer down in the 100 block of West Central Avenue and claimed she had been assaulted about four hours earlier. The victim was looking for her phone which had pinged in the area of a nearby business. The victim reported being pulled from her vehicle and thrown to the ground.
Bruising on her left arm, a lump on her head and scratches on her hands and knees supported being subjected to the assault. The officer was unable to locate the suspect at his home or at the residence of a family member in Green. The victim was instructed to get a restraining order.
The suspect, who has a history of violence. and a conviction, was placed in custody when he was located. The man was detained without bail.
