A medical office in Roseburg was damaged in a fire Tuesday morning.

A Roseburg Fire Department release said at 7:10 a.m. personnel responded to a reported commercial structure fire in the 2500 block of Northwest Edenbower Boulevard. The reporting party said an exterior window was broken with smoke exiting from the window.

Battalion Chief Chris Galligan said firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke from Suite 110, currently occupied by Eden Dental. Galligan said firefighters also observed black soot located on the exterior portion of the commercial structure.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and stopped the forward spread of the fire to the remaining portion of the building. Firefighters completed a search of the structure and determined that no occupants were inside the structure at the time of the fire.

Galligan said the building sustained structural, smoke and water damage. Firefighters remained on scene to complete overhaul. A fire investigator was on scene. The cause of the fire was accidental and determined to be electrical in nature.

The release said nineteen firefighters assisted with firefighting operations. Central Douglas Fire & Rescue, Umpqua Valley Ambulance, Pacific Power, and Roseburg Police Department assisted at the scene.
