The 110th H.O.P.E. Drug Court Graduation is happening on Tuesday night.
The event will celebrate graduates Robert Bryant, Brittany Holmes, Kristy Parham and Rachel Stauffer. It will take place in the Cascade Hall building at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, beginning at 5:15 p.m.
A Douglas County Circuit Court release said its inception in 1996; the program has supported individuals in reducing criminal recidivism and improving their psychosocial well-being. The intensive collaborative effort produces significant cost savings – saving the state $4.56 million in 2024.
The event will celebrate the dedication, resilience and growth of each graduate. The guest speaker will be Curtis “Wall Street” Carroll. While serving time in prison, he taught himself to read, write and spell, eventually earning his GED. His journey of self-awareness and pursuit of financial independence led him to co-develop Financial Empowerment Emotional Literacy, a behavior targeted finance philosophy. His work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch and other outlets.
