The YMCA of Douglas County has closed its facility through Monday, September 1st.

This closure is an annual event to take care of yearly maintenance and do some exciting upgrades.

YMCA of Douglas County CEO Steven Stanfield said, “This project represents an important investment in our members and community”. Stanfield said, “We are grateful to everyone who contributed to our Annual Campaign – because of your generosity, we are able to transform the YMCA fitness experience”.

The Y weight room officially closed on August 18th to begin remodel work. In alignment with the Y’s mission of community impact, most of the YMCA’s former weight room equipment was donated to Umpqua Community College, for use by their student athletes.

The YMCA will reopen on Tuesday, September 2nd with a remodeled weight room and other updates.
