Roseburg Police jailed a woman for endangering the welfare of a child early Sunday morning.

An RPD report said at 2:50 a.m. officers responded to an apartment complex in the 100 block of Sunshine Road, regarding a 5-year-old who possibly overdosed on methamphetamine. Officers contacted the mother and learned her son had possibly got into her stash of meth, which was inside her purse. The woman told officers that her child was extremely difficult to wake up and his breathing with abnormal. The mother had administered Narcan twice.

The child was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. The mother was taken into custody She was detained without bail and was cited for unlawful possession of meth.
