While the hot weather continues, a Cooling Resource Center remains open on Monday and Tuesday afternoons to help those in need escape the heat.

Operated by the Schlueter-Greenwalt Foundation, it is being held at Saint George Episcopal Church on Southeast Cass Avenue in downtown Roseburg.

Jacob Schlueter said over 180 people were assisted between Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Schlueter said that means the shelter is now out of a number of items and needs additional help from the community.

The shelter is seeking water, fruit, chips, cookies, soft fruit bars, string cheese, mini muffins and popsicles. Items can be dropped off at the church after 1:00 p.m. The center will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
