Roseburg Police jailed a man Thursday for alleged criminal mischief.
An RPD report said shortly after 3:30 p.m. 37-year-old Gene Dir was contacted in the 200 block of Southeast Stephens Street, knowing there was probable cause to arrest him. Dir admitted to drilling a hole in the fuel tank of a van at Roseburg Christian Fellowship on Northeast Cedar Street, with the intent of stealing fuel.
After he was taken into custody, Dir was reportedly found to be in possession of a little under a gram of methamphetamine. Dir was charged with first and third-degree counts of criminal mischief, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, third-degree theft, and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. He was detained without bail.
