MYRTLE CREEK MAN JAILED IN STOLEN VEHICLE INCIDENT

A Myrtle Cree man was jailed in a stolen vehicle incident on Wednesday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly after 5:00 a.m. video surveillance showed a suspect wearing all black and cutting the chain at an impound lot in the 400 block of West First Street in Canyonville. The suspect went directly to a sedan and left in the vehicle.

Just before 11:00 p.m. deputies saw the vehicle parked in a driveway in the 600 block of Bills Road in the Tri-City area with the suspect standing nearby. The man was identified as 46-year-old Christopher Jones. Jones was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and second-degree criminal trespass. He was detained without bail.
