Covering Coastal Douglas County:

The Coos Forest Protection Association and other agencies are continuing work on the Scholfield Ridge Fire, 4.5 miles southeast of Reedsport.

As of midday Wednesday, the fire was reported at 50 acres with minimal overnight growth. The fire was spotted late Tuesday afternoon. CFPA, Douglas Forest Protective Association and Oregon Department of Forestry personnel are attempting to slow the fire’s progress and put in containment lines with its contracted partners.

3 engines, 7 tenders, 11 crews, 2 fallers, and 5 aircraft are assigned to the Schofield Ridge Fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
