SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL MAN FOLLOWING ALLEGED OVERNIGHT BURGLARY

Sutherlin Police jailed a man following an alleged overnight burglary early Friday.

An SPD report said at 2:00 a.m. an officer responded after a caller said there was a burglary in the 1200 block of West Central Avenue. Upon arrival, officers contacted 26-year-old Levi Smith, who was unlawfully inside the residence. Smith was held at gun and taser point and was later placed into handcuffs.

Smith was charged with two first-degree counts each, of burglary and criminal trespass and first-degree criminal mischief. He was detained without bail and was released later on Friday.
