Roseburg Police jailed a man for allegedly assaulting a public safety officer following an incident Tuesday night.
An RPD report said just after 6:15 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance at an establishment in the 200 block of Northeast Jackson Street. It was discovered that 37-year-old Corey Hibbs was asked to leave the business and refused to do so multiple times. Officers arrived on scene and trespassed him from the location.
Moments later, Hibbs reportedly ran into the bar and was placed under arrest. While being detained, Hibbs allegedly resisted, scratched and kicked multiple officers. He was transported to corrections. The man was also charged with second-degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest, and harassment. Hibbs was detained without bail.
