ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL ONE, CITE ONE FOLLOWING REPORTED THEFT INCIDENT

July 28, 2025 10:50 a.m.

Roseburg Police jailed one person and cited another following a reported theft incident on Saturday.

An RPD report said just before 2:30 p.m. officers responded to a business in the 1300 block of Northeast Stephens Street after the store manager said a man had stolen a cordless drill set and a lithium-ion jump starter. The manager said the man was seen leaving the area in a maroon-colored minivan and gave dispatch a partial license plate number.

A short time later, officers saw a vehicle, which matched the description, driving on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. Officers stopped the vehicle on reasonable suspicion that it was the same vehicle which was reported to have left the store after the theft. Officers contacted the driver who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He admitted to being at the business with a second man and dropping him off a short distance away from where he was stopped. During the stop, officers learned the man’s driver license was suspended at the misdemeanor level. He was cited and released at the scene.

Officers then drove to the location where the second man was reported to be. Officers contacted the man, identified as 23-year-old Kameron Tracy, who admitted to stealing the items from the business. He still had them in his possession. Dispatch advised that Tracy had a warrant for his arrest, which was confirmed. While at the location, he was found to be with a female he was prohibited from having contact with. Tracy was taken into custody. He was charged with second-degree theft, for the warrant and for a parole violation. Tracy was detained on $ 11,250 bail.
