Roseburg Police jailed a man for a parole violation on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 10:00 a.m. the 31-year-old was called in because he was yelling around the bike jumps at Deer Creek Park in the 500 block of Northeast Stephens Street. The man was contacted while he was flopping around in the South Umpqua River and was reportedly clearly under the influence of drugs. His parole officer authorized a detainer, due to the man using drugs.

He was detained without bail and was released later in the day.
