One man was taken to the hospital following a pickup versus semi-truck crash on Monday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 2:00 p.m. the semi was stopped by flaggers in a utility zone in the 3300 block of Riddle Bypass Road in Riddle. It was rear-ended by a pickup whose driver said that he believed he had a mechanical failure with his brakes. Skid marks were present behind the pickup for about 100 feet.

The 38-year-old Riddle man denied transport by ambulance but went to CHI Mercy Medical Center for treatment via a privately owned vehicle.
