A Canyonville man was jailed on the charge of offensive littering Friday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 2:30 p.m. witnesses said a 63-year-old was putting items onto the sidewalk in the 100 block of Southwest Fifth Street in Canyonville. A video showing the suspect pushing items onto the sidewalk was obtained. There were multiple buckets and totes with what appeared to be feces and trash. They were lined up and people had to walk around the items to avoid them.

An employee with the City of Canyonville safely removed the hazardous waste and disposed of it at the landfill. The man was taken into custody and transported to corrections. Bail was set at $1,250.
