SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL WOMAN FOR RESISTING ARREST

Sutherlin Police jailed a woman for resisting arrest on Monday.

An SPD report said at 11:30 a.m. an officer was traveling eastbound on East Central Avenue when he noticed the 75-year-old woman. The officer knew the woman had a warrant for her arrest and contacted her at the post office. The officer instructed the woman that she was under arrest, but she ignored his commands and kept walking.

Other officers cut her off at a nearby business. While placing her into handcuffs, the woman was allegedly tensing her arms and kicking. The suspect scratched one officer in the arms while being handcuffed. She was taken into custody.  Bail was set at $10,000.
