Roseburg Police jailed a man for hit and run and DUII crashes on Thursday night.
An RPD report said at 9:40 p.m. officers responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 400 block of Northeast Stephens Street. Upon arrival, officers contacted a woman who had pulled south onto Northeast Stephens from the parking lot of a business. Her vehicle was struck by a pickup driven by a 22-year-old. The pickup driver showed signs of impairment and consented to standard field sobriety tests. Due to his level of intoxication, he was unable to complete them and was taken into custody.
While still on scene, officers learned the man had been involved in an earlier hit and run crash, damaging the fence at a business in the 2100 block of Northeast Stephens Street, then leaving the scene. The pickup driver was transported to corrections.
He was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants and failure to perform the duties of a driver with property damage. Bail was set at $16,250.
