A Heat Advisory is in effect from 2:00 p.m. Saturday through 8:00 p.m. Monday for central Douglas County and its eastern foothills.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that high temperatures in the mid 90’s to around 100 degrees are expected.
The Heat Advisory includes the cities of Roseburg, Sutherlin, Green, Toketee Falls, Myrtle Creek, Elkton, Drain, Winchester, Umpqua, and Steamboat.
Forecasters said hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. This heat wave may extend into Tuesday and Wednesday with afternoon highs between 7 and 15 degrees above normal for the Umpqua Valley.
The mercury reached 87 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport on Thursday.
