Sutherlin Police jailed a man in a theft case on Friday.

An SPD report said just after 2:40 a.m. an employee of an assisted living facility said that an electric wheelchair had been stolen from their property in the 1100 block of West Central Avenue. A video showing an adult male, later identified as a 20-year-old, walking onto the property, ducking under a planter, then riding off on the wheelchair. Later that day an employee notified SPD that the wheelchair had been returned anonymously.

The suspect was taken into custody just before 3:00 p.m. and was charged with third-degree theft and for a Roseburg Police Department warrant. He was detained on $1,250 bail.
