Roseburg Parks and Recreation begins “Yoga in the Park” in July.
A city release said along with Body Balance Yoga Center Director Alli Spooner and other instructors, free yoga sessions will be held in a tranquil setting in Stewart Park. This will take place east of the of the band shell every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. from July 5th through August 30th.
The “Yoga in the Park” series began in 2012.
Parks and Recreation Coordinator Tracy David said the free classes are suited to all levels of yoga practice. David said, “Even if you have never been to another yoga class like me, it’s easy to follow along”. David said, “It’s a very laid-back vibe with a group of about 30 people, both men and women, spread out in the grass”.
Attendees should arrive a few minutes early to sign in and be ready to start at 10:00 a.m. Bring a yoga mat and comfortable clothing. Organizers recommend not eating or drinking for at least one hour before class.
Those who arrive early will be entered into a Thrive Umpqua-sponsored prize drawing held after each class.
