The owner of the West Coast Game Park in Bandon has been arrested on drug charges, adding another element to the saga of the embattled facility where over 300 animals were recently seized and relocated to be cared for by other accredited organizations

Public Information Officer Sergeant Christopher Gill of the Coos County Sheriff’s Office said on May 15th, the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team collaborated with the Oregon State Police, Oregon Humane Society, Oregon Department of Agriculture, Internal Revenue Service and the Oregon Department of Justice to execute multiple search warrants.

Gill said during that operation, SCINT members discovered approximately 80 grams of methamphetamine. Based on this finding, detectives obtained an additional search warrant targeting evidence of controlled substance crimes at the game park.

The operation yielded 44 firearms, including one modified into a machine gun, approximately 8 grams of cocaine and roughly $1.6 million in cash, cashier’s checks, bonds and certificates.

Gill said on Tuesday morning at approximately 9:15 a.m., the Bandon Police Department arrested 52-year-old Brian Tenney in connection with the SCINT investigation, and a probable cause warrant issued by the Coos County Sheriff’s Office. Tenney was detained on charges of methamphetamine possession, manufacturing and attempted distribution.

Gill said the investigation is ongoing.
