Roseburg Police cited a man for dog leash law violation on Thursday.

An RPD report said at 1:40 p.m. the 36-year-old’s large black Mastiff/Pitbull mix was running loose through Gaddis Park in the 800 block of Northwest Highland Street. The dog was going around the pavilion and ball fields, but the owner was eventually able to catch the dog, which had a leash attached to it.

The man told officers he thought he was in compliance because the dog had a leash attached to it as it ran around the park. The man was cited and released on the scene.
