Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged assault incident on Monday.

An RPD report said at 11:30 a.m. officers contacted 39-year-old Justin Martin after he was called in for allegedly fighting with an employee at Umpqua Valley Rehab in the 500 block of West Umpqua Street. Multiple witnesses told officers that Martin was the aggressor and punched the victim numerous times causing multiple injuries to his face, neck and chest. The victim claimed that at one point Martin held him down by the neck with one hand and punched him in the face multiple times while choking him.

Martin was taken to corrections without incident. He was charged with fourth-degree assault, strangulation and second-degree disorderly conduct. He was detained on $15,000 bail.
