SOURCE ONE SERENITY HOSTING EVENTS FOR 77TH ANNIVERSARY OF LEGISLATION

May 14, 2025 2:50 a.m.

In recognition of the 77th anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, Source One Serenity is hosting two events in Douglas County next month, to honor the service, strength and resilience of women veterans.

The Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, signed into law on June 12th, 1948, marked a historic moment by granting women the right to serve as permanent, regular members of the U.S. armed forces. This landmark legislation laid the foundation for generations of women to serve and lead in all branches of the military.

To celebrate this legacy and the continued contributions of women veterans in the community, Source One Serenity invites women veterans to participate in these events:

*Women Veterans Hike on Saturday, June 7th at 9:00 a.m. Meet in the parking lot of the Roseburg Public Library on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. Attendees will enjoy a scenic group hike to waterfalls in the Umpqua National Forest, offering time to connect with nature and fellow veterans.

*Brunch for Women Veterans: Saturday, June 28th in the Ford Room of the Roseburg Public Library. The celebratory brunch will be held in a warm atmosphere of gratitude and connection.
