A Roseburg man was cited following a DUII crash on Monday morning.

A Roseburg Police report said at 5:50 a.m. officers responded to the wreck at the intersection of Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard and Northeast Dee Street. Upon arrival, officers found the 26-year-old driver semi-responsive in the driver seat of the vehicle, which had crashed into a tree that was planted in the center dividing medium.

Sitting underneath the man’s legs on the driver side floorboard was a large nitrous oxide canister that was actively expelling nitrous oxide into the sports car. The man also had several other large canisters of nitrous oxide inside of the vehicle. The driver stated that he had no recollection of what took place prior to the crash and passed out.  He was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center via ambulance for further assessment of his injuries.

Officers drove to Mercy for follow-up and issued citations for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. The man was released at Mercy after the citations were issued. The sports car was towed from the scene.
