A driver was sought after a hit and run incident in Canyonville on Thursday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 4:30 p.m. multiple callers said a female was driving a pickup when it struck a curb and a decorative fake rock while leaving a business in the 300 block of North Main Street. The rock covered a water main, which was subsequently damaged by the vehicle.

As a result, the water main broke and was later shut off by city employees and the fire department. The driver then proceeded to another nearby store, where the fake rock was dislodged from beneath the pickup. The driver, identified as a 68-year-old Canyonville resident, made a purchase and left before a deputy could arrive.
