Winston Police jailed a man for eluding police early Sunday morning.

A WPD report said at approximately 2:30 a.m. an officer attempted to execute a traffic stop on a speeding motorcycle. The motorcyclist attempted to elude the officer, resulting in a pursuit that started from the intersection of Highway 42 and Brockway Road and ended in Camas Valley at the intersection of Highway 42 and Westside Road, after the motorcycle experienced mechanical failure.

The rider, identified as 49-year-old Rodney Miller, was taken into custody without issue. Miller was charged with attempting to elude police in a vehicle, reckless driving, three counts of recklessly endangering another person, and for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. He was detained without bail.
