GLIDE MAN CHARGED FOR FELONY ASSAULT IN ALLEGED PLAYGROUND INCIDENT

A Glide man was charged with fourth-degree assault – a felony, by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office following an alleged incident on Sunday night.

A DCSO report said at 6:40 p.m. a victim was at the playground of Glide Baptist Church, in the 300 block of Glide Loop Drive. He was with family members who were playing on the playground when 20-year-old Triston Barker arrived. Barker and the victim reportedly got into a verbal disturbance with the victim telling Barker some things he did not want to hear.

Barker stated that he lost control, and head butted the victim, punching him a few times. The victim said it was more than a few times and he ended up on the ground. The victim had redness on his forehead and a bloody scrape on his right forearm. He stated that he almost blacked out and had substantial pain. The incident was witnessed by multiple people, including a juvenile. The adult witnesses all said that the victim never got physical.

Barker was detained without bail.
