Roseburg Police cited two people for prohibited camping on Thursday morning.

An RPD report said at 7:50 a.m. officers found a 58-year-old woman in a sleeping bag under the Rowe Street Bridge in the 900 block of Northeast Rowe Street in a manner preventing emergency vehicles from passing through on the paved bike path. The camp was in violation of the time and place portions of the city’s camping ordinance.

At approximately 8:10 a.m. officers found a 48-year-old woman under a blanket in the same area. She was also in a location that prevented emergency vehicles from passing through. This camp was also in violation of the time and place portions of the ordinance.

Both people were released after their citations were issued.
