Sutherlin Police jailed a man for being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon on Wednesday morning.

An SPD report said at 9:15 a.m. an officer made contact with 28-year-old Blaine Smith behind a building in the 1000 block of West Central Avenue. Smith had a valid warrant for his arrest. The officer observed that the man had a collapsible bladed knife, with a pocket clip, in his right pocket. The office took possession of the knife.

Smith was held on three charges and was detained on $6,250 bail.
