ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR OFFENSIVE LITTERING, TRESPASS

Roseburg Police jailed a man for offensive littering and second-degree criminal trespass on Wednesday morning.

An RPD report said at 10:30 a.m. 40-year-old Michael Essary was found sitting behind a fenced area under the Rowe Street Bridge, in the 900 block of Northeast Rowe Street.  Essary was allegedly drinking a beer. When officers confronted the man, he reportedly threw the open can of beer into Deer Creek. Officers detained Essary without incident. He was also detained for a parole violation and held on $2,500 bail. Essary was also cited for drinking in public.
