A Yoncalla man was jailed on a felony assault charge on Tuesday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 8:40 p.m. a deputy responded to the 5900 block of Eagle Valley Road in the Yoncalla area for an alleged physical disturbance. During an investigation, it was determined that 37-year-old Kristopher Cody punched a victim in the face several times causing her eyebrow to bleed and suffer a cut. During the altercation the victim attempted to escape but Cody allegedly would not allow the victim to leave the residence.

Eventually the victim did leave along with a juvenile child who was reportedly present for the incident. Cody was arrested and transported to corrections. He was charged with fourth-degree felony assault, and second-degree counts of criminal trespass and criminal mischief. Kody was detained without bail.
