SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL WOMAN FOR ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING A POLICE OFFICER

Sutherlin Police jailed a woman for allegedly assaulting a police officer early Wednesday.

An SPD report said at 12:20 a.m. 24-year-old Illiana Anderson-Christopher was served with a restraining order by a deputy in the 1000 block of East Central Avenue. She was given an opportunity to collect her belongings and vacate the premises.

Anderson-Christopher reportedly refused to leave and was ultimately charged with violating the restraining order. In the process, the woman allegedly fought with officers, kicking one officer in the groin and resisting arrest throughout the entire process.

She was ultimately taken into custody and transported to corrections. Anderson-Christopher was charged with assaulting a public safety officer, harassment, resisting arrest, attempting to commit a Class C felony and for the restraining order. She was detained without bail.
